Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea – The National Capital District Provincial Health Authority (NCDPHA) successfully convened its final Audit Committee Meeting for 2026, bringing together committee members and management to review key financial, operational, and compliance matters for the year.

The quarterly Audit Committee Meeting serves as an important governance mechanism that provides oversight of financial management, internal controls, risk management processes, and regulatory compliance across the Authority. The meeting enables the Committee to assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide strategic guidance to strengthen accountability and organizational effectiveness.

As NCDPHA concludes another year of delivering essential healthcare services across the National Capital District, the Committee’s recommendations will support sound decision-making, responsible stewardship of resources, and continuous improvements in service delivery for the benefit of the communities it serves.

The NCD Provincial Health Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Robin Oge, acknowledged the important role of the Audit Committee in upholding good governance and ensuring the Authority remains accountable to its stakeholders.

“Strong governance and accountability are fundamental to building a resilient and effective health system. The Audit Committee provides valuable independent oversight that helps ensure our financial and operational processes are transparent, compliant, and focused on delivering the best outcomes for our people,” said Dr. Oge.

He said, “As we close out 2026, I commend the Committee members and management team for their commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity and accountability.” Dr. Oge said the Audit Committee’s guidance supports management’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional performance and ensure resources are used efficiently to improve healthcare services throughout the National Capital District.

Dr. Oge reiterated NCDPHA’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance, transparency, and ethical leadership as the Authority continues to enhance healthcare services and improve health outcomes for the people of the National Capital District.
