The National Capital District Provincial Health Authority (NCDPHA) has received a significant boost to support healthcare service delivery following the presentation of proceeds from the 2026 Charity Colour Run during a cheque presentation ceremony hosted by Island Petroleum and the We Are One Foundation at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Port Moresby.
During the event, Gerehu General Hospital received a cheque for K168,200.00, and 6 Mile Polyclinic also received K168,200.00, bringing the total donation to K336,400.00.
The funds were raised through the 2026 Charity Colour Run, which attracted strong participation from corporate partners, community members, and supporters across the National Capital District. The donation will support the operations of both health facilities as they continue to provide essential healthcare services to the people of NCD and the Motu Koitabu villages.
The National Capital District Provincial Health Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Robin Oge, expressed his sincere gratitude to the We Are One Foundation and Island Petroleum for their commitment to supporting public health services in the nation’s capital.
“On behalf of the National Capital District Provincial Health Authority, I extend our heartfelt appreciation to the We Are One Foundation for selecting NCDPHA as a beneficiary of this commendable initiative. This generous contribution demonstrates the impact that community partnerships can have in strengthening our healthcare system and improving services for our people,” said Dr. Oge.
He said, “We are equally grateful to Island Petroleum for taking the lead in this worthy cause and for bringing together partners, stakeholders, and communities through the Charity Colour Run.”
Dr. Oge said that the funds received today will directly support healthcare operations and projects at Gerehu General Hospital and 6 Mile Polyclinic, helping our dedicated health workers continue delivering quality services to the people of NCD and the Motu Koitabu communities.
“I also acknowledge and thank all sponsors, participants, volunteers, partners, and members of the wider NCD and Motu Koitabu community who took part in the Charity Colour Run. Your support reflects a shared commitment to healthier and stronger communities,” said Dr. Oge.
He further emphasized that the donation highlights the importance of collaboration between the private sector, non-government organizations, and public institutions in addressing healthcare challenges and improving health outcomes across the city.
The NCDPHA remains committed to working closely with partners to strengthen healthcare services and ensure accessible, quality, and people-centred care for all residents of the National Capital District.
