The National Capital District Provincial Health Authority (NCDPHA), together with partners supporting the National Capital District HIV program and frontline clinicians, successfully convened a two-day Quarterly Program Review Meeting (QPRM) to share and evaluate clinic results for Quarter 4, 2025.

Day one of the meeting focused on results sharing across all participating clinics, while day two was dedicated to developing improvement plans to sustain and strengthen performance. The review highlighted that all indicators and clinics performed exceptionally well, with only a few key areas identified for continued improvement.

Following the Quarter 3 review, the program implemented targeted activities to address challenges, and the Quarter 4 evaluation confirmed significant progress. This achievement reflects the commitment of clinicians, program staff, and partners to delivering quality HIV services in the National Capital District.

The support for the Quarterly Program Review Meeting (QPRM) was provided through the Epic Project by FHI360 PNG, whose technical and programmatic assistance continues to play a vital role in strengthening HIV service delivery and outcomes.

Cumulative Program Achievements (Quarter 1–4, 2025)

 • HIV Testing: 45,160 individuals tested

 • New HIV Positive Cases: 1,890 identified

 • ART Initiation: 1,890 patients started on treatment

 • ART Retention: 9,708 patients retained on treatment

 • Viral Load Monitoring: 4,388 tests conducted

 • Viral Load Suppression: 4,244 patients achieved suppression (94%)

 • Antenatal Care Clinic HIV Testing (Pregnant Women): 14,072 tested

These results demonstrate strong performance across all indicators, underscoring the effectiveness of targeted interventions and collaborative efforts.

NCDPHA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Robin Oge, commended the collective effort, stating:

“These results demonstrate the dedication of our clinicians, program staff, and partners in ensuring that HIV services in NCD remain strong and effective. While we celebrate the exceptional performance across all indicators, we are equally committed to addressing the few areas that require improvement. Together, we will continue to build on this momentum to achieve even greater impact for our communities.”

Dr. Oge further emphasizes that knowing your HIV status is the first step to protecting your health and your loved ones. “With over 45,000 people tested in 2025, the program has shown that testing is accessible, confidential, and life-saving. Early detection allows individuals to begin treatment immediately, achieve viral suppression, and live healthy, productive lives,” he added.

The Authority encourages everyone (men, women, and young people) to visit their nearest clinic for testing. Pregnant women are especially urged to get tested during antenatal care to protect both themselves and their babies. NCDPHA management acknowledges the dedication of all stakeholders and reaffirms its commitment to ongoing collaboration, innovation, and community-centered approaches to ensure sustained success in the fight against HIV.
