The National Capital District Provincial Health Authority (NCDPHA) proudly announces the one-year anniversary of the Six Mile Poly Clinic’s transition to a 24-hour Emergency Poly Clinic. Since launching extended operations on December 23, 2024, the clinic has become a cornerstone of healthcare delivery in the Port Moresby North East (PMNE) District.
2025 Key Achievements at a Glance:
- Total Patient Attendance: 109,707 outpatients served
- After-Hours Impact: Nearly 20,000 patients treated between 4 PM and 8 AM
- Specialized Care: Weekly specialist clinics in Paediatrics, Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Psychiatry
- Public Health Leadership: 772 TB cases registered; 100% ART initiation rate for HIV-positive patients
- Comprehensive Services: Over 6,700 dental procedures performed and 6,200 well baby visits conducted.
The transition to 24-hour care was made possible through a strategic partnership between NCDPHA and PMGH, ensuring a steady flow of medical officers, nursing staff, and essential supplies to maintain round-the-clock service.
The NCD PHA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Robin Oge commended the clinic’s achievements stating that, “The Six Mile Poly Clinic has proven that community-based healthcare can deliver transformative results. By reducing the strain on Port Moresby General Hospital and expanding access to care, this initiative demonstrates the power of strategic partnerships and dedicated staff. As CEO, I am proud of the commitment shown by our medical officers, nurses, and support teams. Their tireless efforts have not only improved patient outcomes but also strengthened the resilience of our health system.
