The National Capital District Provincial Health Authority (NCDPHA) wishes to inform the people of Moresby Northeast District and the wider NCD community that the 6 Mile Polyclinic is undergoing a major rehabilitation project from January to the end of July 2026. This project aims to improve facilities and enhance service delivery for patients. During this period, certain services will be temporarily closed, scaled down, or relocated to ensure continuity of care.

Service Disruptions:

  • Dental Clinic: Closed. Patients are advised to seek dental services at Metoreia Clinic and Kaugere Clinic.
  • Consultation Clinics for Senior Medical Officers (SMOs): Closed. Patients are advised to attend Gerehu Hospital or Metoria Clinic.
  • Outpatient Services: Operations will be scaled down during the rehabilitation period.

Relocation of Services:
To maintain uninterrupted access to essential health services, the following clinics have been relocated within the 6 Mile Polyclinic premises:

  • Well Baby & Nutrition Clinic: Relocated to the new shade built at the back of the transit home.
  • Antenatal Clinic: Relocated into the main building.
  • Family Planning Clinic: Relocated into the main building.
  • Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Clinic: Relocated into the main building.

All relocated services will continue to operate normally without scaling down, as these are vital to the health and wellbeing of our communities.

NCDPHA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Robin Oge, emphasized:
“We understand that these temporary changes may cause inconvenience, but they are necessary to ensure the long-term improvement of health services at 6 Mile Polyclinic. Essential services such as antenatal care, family planning, nutrition, and non-communicable disease management will continue without disruption because we cannot compromise on the health of our mothers, children, and families. We ask for your patience and cooperation during this rehabilitation period.”

The NCDPHA management remains committed to delivering quality healthcare services across the National Capital District. The rehabilitation of 6 Mile Polyclinic is part of our broader effort to strengthen health infrastructure and improve service delivery for all residents
