The Management of the National Capital District Provincial Health Authority (NCDPHA) is pleased to announce that a major infrastructure rehabilitation project has officially commenced this week at the 6 Mile Polyclinic in the Port Moresby North East (PMNE) District.

This project represents a significant investment in public health infrastructure, aimed at improving patient care facilities and strengthening service delivery to meet the growing healthcare needs of the Moresby North East District and the wider NCD community.

This vital initiative is made possible through a collaborative funding model, with 50% of the project costs provided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The remaining 50% counter-funding was provided by the National Capital District Commission (NCDC) and the Port Moresby North East District Development Authority (DDA).

On behalf of the Board and Management of NCDPHA, we extend our sincere gratitude to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for their generous funding contribution and steadfast partnership in supporting healthcare initiatives in NCD. The Board and management of NCDPHA also acknowledge with appreciation the leadership and dedication of the NCD Governor, Hon. Powes Parkop, MP for Moresby North East District, Hon. John Kaupa, the DDA CEO, Mr. Davis Kia, and the City Manager, Mr. Ravu Frank, for ensuring the necessary coordination and counter-funding for this important project.

NCDPHA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Robin Oge, emphasized that the rehabilitation of the 6 Mile Polyclinic is a direct investment in the health and wellbeing of the people. He stated that the project reflects the shared commitment of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, NCDC and Port Moresby Northeast DDA to deliver safe, accessible, and quality healthcare services to the residents of Moresby Northeast District and the greater National Capital District. Dr. Oge added that the authority is grateful to its partners and looks forward to implementing similar infrastructure rehabilitation projects throughout the NCD.
